ISH Highlight: System M.

ISH Highlight: System M.

Heating, Cooling, domestic hot water preparation – and now also ventilation in just one system.

With System M, Glen Dimplex Thermal Solutions (GDTS) has revolutionised the heat pump, and raised it up to a level of perfection. GDTS has bundled its expertise in one highly integrated modular system that can do everything: heating, cooling, domestic hot water preparation - and now also ventilation. At the ISH in Frankfurt, the leading international trade fair for water, heat and climate control, GDTS will be presenting its System M Pure, Compact Plus and Comfort Plus variants, as well as an entirely new one: System M Air, the integrated ventilation module for all heat pumps in the System M series. Also new: the System M wall console.

Kulmbach / Frankfurt. It’s actually much too beautiful to hide away in the “heating room”. System M, the multi-award winning heat pump from Glen Dimplex Thermal Solutions (GDTS), not only impresses with outstanding technical features, high quality “Made in Germany” and outstanding performance, but also with its well thought out design. Plug-and-play: The style icon among heat pumps is very easy to install thanks to its pre-assembled modular design. That saves as much as 50 percent on installation time – and cuts out mistakes. The modular design also permits custom configuration to meet any need. System M takes up very little space, and is extremely quiet. What’s more, System M is the only heat pump system on the market that can do everything: Heating, cooling and ventilation. The system thus ensures the right temperature for well-being and comfort is maintained at all times, and supplies fresh air all around the house, at any time of the year. And with the right energy mix – such as a photovoltaic energy plant to generate electricity – its carbon footprint is zero. So it's no wonder that the heat pump is so popular not just with developers, but also with installers. Now there is System M in the Pure, Compact Plus and Comfort Plus variants. The product range is now for the first time rounded off by a highly integrated ventilation module: System M Air, matching all the variants in the System M series.

System M Pure.

The multi-award winning heat pump System M heat pump from Glen Dimplex Thermal Solutions (GDTS) is now available in a more purist version. System M Pure is the smallest and most compact heat pump on the market – the perfect heat pump for anyone wanting to focus on the key technical features without compromising on quality, technical performance and service. The product concept: Reduction to the essential, but on an extremely high level. System M Pure is perfect for smaller-sized homes with a living space of up to 150 square meters. The Pure version from GDTS is available with a heat output of 6 kW and a 180 litre domestic hot water cylinder. It is always controlled directly from a smart device (tablet or mobile phone) using the free GDTS Home app.

System M Compact Plus.

The perfect choice for terraced houses or single-family homes with up to 200 square metres of living space, for three or four people: System M Compact Plus comes in power ratings from 4 to 6 kW and featuring a 180 litre domestic hot water cylinder. The system is equipped with the latest inverter technology. That means the heat pump always responds flexibly: It works less during low heat consumption and more during high heat consumption. So more heat is quickly generated on especially cold days. Because it can adapt its power continuously, it always reaches the desired room temperature with the smallest possible energy consumption. This avoids the pump continually switching on and off. The power reserve of the inverter significantly shortens the water heat-up phase, so delivering more hot water comfort.

System M Comfort Plus.

Intelligence and performance are the key features of System M Comfort Plus. It is the heat pump for new architect-designed or low-energy houses with up to 300 square metres of living space for up to five people. However, it's also the perfect solution to provide environmentally sustainable, efficient heating, ventilation and hot water supply when renovating older homes up to 300 square metres in size too. System M Comfort Plus comes in power ratings from 9 to 16 kW and featuring a 220 litre domestic hot water cylinder which can be optionally upgraded to 355 litres. It is equipped with the latest inverter control for when more power is quickly needed without lengthy build-up times. As an added bonus, the device's touch display provides for easy and intuitive fingertip control. For mobile remote control there is the GDTS Home app, installed on a smart device. Cooling and ventilation functions are available as options.

System M Air.

The better the building's insulation, the more important ventilation becomes. That is why GDTS has revised the concept of controlled home ventilation, presenting its System M Air for the first time. With System M Air, GDTS has combined its expertise in heating, cooling, domestic hot water preparation and ventilation in one system. The central ventilation module can be configured to match any heat pump in the System M series – perfectly adapted and highly integrated. System M Air stands for extra comfort, is compact, space-saving, energy-efficient and extremely quiet. The ventilation module is controlled via the System M master unit, meaning the heat pump and ventilation module are controlled easily and intuitively from the same touch display. System M Air is designed for ventilation of single-family homes with up to about 250 square metres of living space, ensuring clean, healthy air brought to the right temperature all around the house. A heat exchanger and pre-heating register are integrated into the ventilation module. The degree of heat recovery of the highly efficient system is up to 92 percent. System M Air is installed adjacent to or on top of the heat pump indoor unit. With a 60 x 60 cm grid size, it fits ideally with all the System M heat pump indoor units. Like the rest of the System M series, the ventilation module features the typical GDTS design.

Saves time and money: the System M wall console.

GDTS has developed an aesthetically and technically perfect solution for developers looking to eliminate the need for an additional concrete foundation for the heat pump outdoor unit: the System M wall console. The outdoor unit can be quickly mounted to the wall console at an early stage of the installation process. The refrigerant line and connections are concealed and fed invisibly into the house through the wall fixture. And because good design is as important to GDTS as top-class technical features, the wall fixture perfectly matches the high-end look of System M, and creates the illusion of almost "floating".

Quality "Made in Germany".

System M offers a uniquely combined technical and creative solution, designed, developed and produced in Kulmbach in the Upper Franconia region of southern Germany.

Individuality in technology and design.

The System M air-to-water heat pump comes in a wide range of design variants, including customised one-off items. A choice of claddings is available, from real wood to an exposed concrete look, as are all 1,625 RAL colours, in monochrome or bi-colour, to provide a totally personalised design. GDTS will also be spotlighting two special design studies at the ISH: a variant in brushed stainless steel, and one in corten steel.

A crucial benefit particularly for small plots where neighbours are close-by is that System M runs very quietly. The benefits of integral technology are fully utilised, as the fan (outside) and compressor (inside) sound sources are isolated from each other. And the key building and noise standards are always fully met. Also, sound data specifications apply at 100 percent system output. Even during reduced night-time periods, sufficient energy is provided to assure our residents' comfort. That is why GDTS reduces its system output by a maximum of 5 percent.

The highly efficient heat pump can also be technically configured in line with personal requirements. Connections for photovoltaic or solar thermal plants are available. And System M is compact: The indoor unit with a footprint of 60 x 60 centimetres takes up less space than any other heat pump, and no more than a washing machine. The outdoor unit is also the smallest on the market with dimensions of 60 x 50 x 87 centimetres.

Easy fingertip control.

System M is extremely easy to control. Functions and parameters are controlled via a high-resolution 7-inch touch display directly on the indoor unit of the heat pump or via an app on a smartphone or tablet. Typical of GDTS is the award-winning minimalist design, ensuring that all its products look super-stylish and are instantly recognisable.

GDTS has developed different operating structures depending on the user – professional or layperson. That means consumers can quickly, easily and intuitively control their System M themselves at home, or while on the move using the GDTS Home app on a smartphone, without needing any specialist knowledge. Easily with just a fingertip.

Added value: All-round service.

System M is pre-configured and pre-assembled for specific customer requirements at the factory. This means that on-site installation can be carried out extremely quickly and conveniently by the installer. The indoor unit is connected to the Internet via LAN. This not only makes control via the GDTS Home app possible. The GDTS after-sales service team can help extremely quickly with questions relating to the system or if service work is required. Thanks to the LAN connection, after-sales service can access important operating data for the heat pump and thus help to find a solution quickly. In future, GDTS Service – at the request of the customer – can also give recommendations for operating the heat pump as efficiently as possible. This is all part of the all-round service provided by GDTS. And with the optional Long-Life service package, the warranty period can be extended to 10 years.
