Anyone who builds or renovates in line with the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) knows all about ensuring proper building insulation – and that it can save a lot on heating costs. But living in an "airtight" house is neither healthy nor pleasant. It can also damage the fabric of the building. Such buildings require effective ventilation systems, like the ingenious systems from Dimplex, the room climate specialists from Glen Dimplex Thermal Solutions (GDTS). Comfortable ventilation for one or two rooms. With the new DL 50 W2 decentralised ventilation unit from Dimplex.

Installed directly in the external wall, the new DL 50 W2 decentralised ventilation units ensure controlled room ventilation. Two ventilators, working in parallel, suck up the air which has been used up in the room and feed in fresh air. Maximum efficiency is ensured by the counter-current heat exchanger, which offers a heat recovery rate of up to 87%. The new enthalpy heat exchanger additionally recovers moisture from the air in the room. The DL 50 WH2 model with integrated heating coil is certified by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt and ensures a particularly high level of comfort in cold weather.

Perfect for ventilating rooms that give straight onto the street.

The housing of the ventilation unit is optimally soundproofed to stop any street noise coming into the living space. And the air comes into the house not only quietly, but also filtered. The constant air flow means that you hardly notice the units running. It also keeps the system hygienic: standard F7 filters are only used in one direction, which is great news for anyone allergic to pollen. Where the outside air is very dusty or full of particles, the new Hepa filter can be used for highly efficient H13 filtration. And the new activated charcoal filter can be used to neutralise any odours in the outside air.

Radically easy to assemble.

Installation is quick and easy. After the drilling work, the wall sleeve can be mounted and the device inserted and connected up to the power. No air ducts are required unless a second room is to be connected to the system – an easy process using the appropriate extra parts.

Radically comfortable to use.

The unit can be controlled via the control panel on the unit, remotely via a wireless connection or via a central home automation system using EnOcean. The decentralised ventilation units can also run in automatic mode via an air quality sensor, ensuring optimum room air quality without requiring manual intervention.

Simply more functions.

The new models include a whole range of integrated comfort functions as standard, including a time function, the ability to programme the remote control, sleep mode for bedrooms, cross ventilation for systems comprising several DL 50 W2 models, and a balancing function for individually weighting the air supply where an adjoining room is connected to the system.

Suitable for both new buildings and renovations.

The DL 50 W2 models can be used in new buildings as well as for renovating old buildings of all types. Constant ventilation ensures the safety of the fabric of the building, especially useful in rented accommodation. The DL 50 W2 series is also certified for use in passive houses: the preheating element for heating the incoming air (supplied as standard in the WH2 model) and the built-in cooling protection mean that the units provide constant comfortable temperatures and fresh air – with the clever addition of automatically closing external flaps during the blower door test.
